The 6th Annual Lost in Place Nature Writing Intensive
The sixth annual Lost in Place Nature Writing Intensive is not to be missed. Jon Nelson, High Desert Museum Curator of Wildlife, is the weekend’s guide to Summer Lake’s flora and fauna; renown University of Oregon archaeologist Dennis Jenkins will bring the pre-history inhabitants of the region to life in an evening presentation followed by a field trip to the Paisley Caves; and high desert author and Oregon’s Poet Laureate, Ellen Waterston, will lead daily writing workshops focused on returning poets and prose writers to the page with renewed inspiration, thanks to the catalyst of the high desert. Based out of The Lodge at Summer Lake in Summer Lake, Oregon this unique long-weekend retreat is a collaboration between the High Desert Museum and the Writing Ranch. Limited to twelve participants.
