The Writing Ranch, founded in 2001, is based in the High Desert of Central Oregon, Oregon’s “outback”, and is dedicated to supporting emerging writers through workshops, writing intensives, retreats, seminars and one-on-one in-person or on-line tutorials.
Writing Ranch founder and award-winning author Ellen Waterston understands the challenge of building a creative writing career around professional and personal commitments. She also recognizes the need for providing writers with opportunities to improve their craft, whether writing professionally or creatively, and the importance of taking time in a retreat setting, away from daily demands, to focus on one’s writing and writing goals.
