White Dog Poetry Salon

Where: 507 NW Skyline Crest Road, Portland, Oregon

Poet and author Penelope Scambly Schott will host the White Dog Salon, which she and her husband founded. Ellen Waterston is one of two poets who will read at this event. The public is invited. Ellen will read from her verse novel, Via Lactea: A Woman of a Certain Age Walks the Camino, and then read a corresponding portion of the libretto.. Vocalist Amanda Taddeo will then sing the same section from the libretto (also written by Ellen) of the opera, with music composed by Rebecca Oswald, based on Ellen's book. The world premiere of "Via Lactea: An Opera in Two Acts" will take place June 10-11-12, 2016.
